Born in Bethlehem, Osama Awwad is one of seven cofounders of Diyar Theatre as well as a dramaturge and dance theatre choreographer. For the last nine years, he has performed as a dancer and actor in theatrical works such as “Face Hook” and “Walls” (in cooperation with Al-Hara Theatre) and “Portraits of Fear”, “Nimrod” and “Out of Place” (with Diyar Theatre). His latest production, “Haya”, is a joint performance with a scouts group. In addition to acting and folklore dancing, his hobbies include photography and filmmaking. Osama graduated from Palestine Technical College with a degree in media arts and is also a licensed English-speaking tour guide. He has additionally worked as an editor and programme presenter for local radio stations.
nazil cevik azazi
Nazlı Çevik Azazi is a storyteller and writer as well as a theatre & dance teacher (M.A.). From 2008 to 2011, she pursued her master’s degree in theatre education at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). During that time, she earned creative dance qualifications from Dock11 and Tanztangente. After graduation, she additionally completed the training programme Artistic Narration – Storytelling in Art and Education at UdK. After working as a storyteller as well as a theatre & dance teacher in Germany, she returned to Istanbul in 2013 and founded the SEIBA International Storytelling Centre. She currently writes books on the art of storytelling, tells stories and teaches in Turkey in addition to heading national and international projects.
Born in Paris to an international family, Gary Ghislain grew up between Paris and the French Riviera. He is the author of “How I Stole Johnny Depp‘s Alien Girlfriend” and the “Goolz Next Door” series. “Wie ich Johnny Depps Alien-Braut abschleppte” was also published in Germany and was adapted
for the stage by Lars-Ole Walburg for Staatsschauspiel Hannover. Gary Ghislain now lives in Antibes on the French Riviera, where he writes and continues to develop the expanded universe of his multivolume “Goolz Next Door” series.
Bahar Gürey works as a dance & theatre teacher in Istanbul and Ankara. She studied in Ankara and Istanbul creative drama, education, German as a foreign language and German studies and was an Erasmus student at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). Her focus is on language and cultural outreach at the interface between education and theatre. She has translated numerous professional texts and accompanied international workshops as a translator with great professional expertise. Bahar Gürey is a pioneer in the field of cultural outreach in Turkey. Her work, which she presents in the form of professional development courses, has opened up new (theatre education) methods and approaches for her Turkish colleagues.
Frauke Huhn is a certified education specialist, secondary school teacher, theatre teacher (BuT) and NLP practitioner (DVNLP). Her works have been distinguished by UNESCO (2004), the Ministry of Culture of Baden-Wuerttemberg (2009) and the Ministry of Science of Luxembourg (2018). In Australia, she works for NORPA (Northern Rivers Performing Arts in Lismore) as the coordinator of its children’s and youth department. She is the founder of CICADE (Centre for Innovative Coaching and Applied Drama Education) and the director of education & development at Public Act – Theatre for All, Byron Bay.
