The Children’s Jury at the 35th WESTWIND Festival is made up of nine pupils from the second and fourth grades of the Wunderschule Oberhausen primary school. Anna, Joshua, Lara, Lotta, Luis, Mia, Tunç and Vian will watch five of the selected NRW productions and then hold honest, critical, lively and friendly discussions about what they have seen and experienced. They are supported and accompanied by theatre teacher Sigrid Noveski and Melanie Spieker. At the Awards Ceremony they will present one of these productions with the Children’s Jury Prize. The prize of 1000 Euros will be donated by the Friends of Oberhausen Theatre.
The Youth Jury of this year’s WESTWIND Festival includes Aleyna, Ellie, Lea, Nyima, Timm and Younes. Three girls and three boys aged between 12 and 16 from Oberhausen and the Ruhr. The Youth Jury will watch 6 of the festival nrw-performances. Through preparatory workshops and sessions during the Festival the young people will work with dramaturg Lucie Ortman to examine and consider how to observe closely and document their experiences. Together they will develop and test criteria for evaluation and selection in time for the end of the week when the ‘Grand Youth Jury Prize’ will be awarded. The prize money of 1000 Euros is donated by Küchen Horstmann.
