Young people are not merely an audience, but an active part of the WESTWIND Festival. A central component of this is the WESTWIND CREW from the Junges Theater Münster. These young people—drawn from the participatory projects of "SEI AM START!"—are involved in the planning process from the very beginning; they develop their own ideas, design program elements, and take on responsibilities during the festival. This core group is complemented by youth participation groups from various cities, including "Drama Control" from Bochum, teams from Berlin’s "Augenblick mal! Festival", the youth jury for the upcoming WESTWIND Festival in Neuss, "D’Insiders" (the youth advisory board of Schauspiel Düsseldorf), and many others.

Through shared formats for exchange and interaction, these young people network with one another and engage in dialogue with adult theater professionals on equal footing. In doing so, they contribute their own experiences, questions, and ideas, thereby playing a pivotal role in shaping discussions and developments within the field of theater for young audiences. During the festival, the Crew is active throughout the Festival Center, organizing activities and hosting various events.

These include guided walks between performance venues, city scavenger hunts, and workshops held in the *HIER IST IMMER WAS LOS* (There’s Always Something Happening Here) room.
